There are a lot of super-accurate scenes, but too many "cute random extras". We don't really need Alan, Chouchou, or Cosette's friend's son missing (a WHOLE episode), or Éponine's schoolmate who likes Cosette better.
But the designs are quite good (except Thénardier: he doesn't look scary enough, just a funny evil), the voices - especially the men's - are well-chosen. (Valjean's and Javert's voices are just perfect.)
We get almost everything from the book, and sometimes little things from the musical (Factory Girl looks exactly like in the musical).
And all Amis exist. And there's Patron-Minette and they look exactly like they should look.
I don't know whom did they make this to. For children or for book!geeks? Because it's both. The fluffy extras are for kids, but they kill off a lot of characters canonically. And then they let Gavroche and Javert live. After all the Amis, Epp and cute old Mabeuf died. *hugs Mabeuf* Plus they show the plague, they show all the misery realistically, and then... they screw up Gavroche and Javert. WTF Chouchou comes to save the day? WTF sunrise?
But I just loved that Thénardier gets no money and goes to jail at the end. The bastard really deserves it.

I personally am fond of the part when Courfeyrac whispers in Marius' ear to 'induct him into the revolution'. c:
I have issues with Cosette's design, I don't get why they changed her from brunette-with-blue-eyes to blonde-with-blue-eyes.
I wasn't altogether keen on some of the designs (which aren't so much 19th century France and more so anime staples).
I like it. I don't know, I guess because it's such a faithful adaptation, and then it's not
