Well that sucks!

Pardon the french

The edition I have has the option of English dubbing or the original French audio, no subtitles.

'L'Edition Longue' (R2), 9.99 Euro from amazon.fr. With postage to the UK, it's about £14.60.
On the main menu, there's a heading 'Versions'. Click on that, and it gives the choise of Anglaise or Française.
I suspect the dub may have been done originally for the Canadian market (so it could be broadcast on the English channels as well as the French), as the accents are mainly North American of some sort.

I have just finished watching the 1985 English dub. Overall I think it is pretty good. The film looks gorgeous especially when you consider it was made in the early 80s. My only complaint is that it lacks melodrama. The novel is a page turner whereas this movie just plods along at times.

I've just watched this movie. I like the barricade boys quite a lot although all of them seem to be ten years older than they should be. How happy and lively they were when they met Marius in the Luxembourg! I burst into tears when they were killed
