Upcoming Alumni Projects

Postby MmeBahorel » Mon Feb 11, 2013 12:52 am

Have a favourite from any cast ever who is doing something awesome you want to plug? I think we need a thread for this :)

Ali Ewoldt and Adam Jacobs, who you may remember as Cosette and Marius near the end of the 3NT (Adam left before Ali got promoted from understudy) and together as perhaps the cutest matching pair ever on Broadway (Revival), are doing a concert together at Town Hall in NY on February 23. Megan McGinnis (who took over as Éponine in the Broadway revival) will also be participating.

If anyone is in the NY area and interested in going, the discount code TOFANY will knock balcony seats down to about $30 including fees.

Adam and Ali are a couple of the sweetest people I know and great boosters for the Filipino-American community. Fandom turnout would be lovely for them.

Fra Fee is in Toulon right now, and he'll be doing 'Follies' (Sondheim) at the Toulon Opera House. He says that his favourite musical is Sweeney Todd, so that should be really exciting for him (& anyone else who wishes to go).

Killian Donnelly is still in Billy Elliot in the West End until May.

And Rebecca Caine, Matt Cammelle and Earl Carpenter are doing another UK tour of Three Phantoms in a few months (no JOJ though!)

So, apparently, going by the fight choreography pictures that have popped up on my tumblr feed, Hadley Fraser is going to be starring opposite Tom Hiddleston in Coriolanus.

Chances of getting tickets for that?

Hugh Skinner is going to be appearing in the new American Psycho musical along with Matt Smith of Doctor Who fame. Also in the cast are Cassie Compton, former Éponine and Lucie Jones, former Cosette.

Jason Forbach is currently playing Chris in Miss Saigon at North Short Music Theatre.

Fra Fee, David Thaxton and Christopher Jacobsen are all in Candide at the Menier Chocolate Factory that premieres in the next week or two. Rehearsal audio clip here: http://barelymissedbecominghistoric.tum ... -interview

So apparently according to tumblr, Philip Quast is going to be playing Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd with the New York Philarmonic. With Bryn Terfel as Sweeney, Emma Thompson(!!!) as Mrs Lovett and Christian Borle as Pirelli. Sounds like that will be a rather exciting production.

Emma Thompon did a pretty adorable preview of her Mrs. Lovett here. Not sure how I feel about it on the whole, but I guess I'll know when I see it! :D

I've heard that Norm Lewis is going to be the Phantom on Broadway. I'm rather happy about this, actually. I may not be a huge fan of his Javert, but I like his voice. And hey, baritone Phantom again. Last one that springs to mind is Gary Mauer.
