NaNoWriMo

Postby MmeJavert » Mon Oct 02, 2006 5:26 am

Right, I know, this isn't really on-topic. I don't care.

Some of you may be aware that it is now October, and thus one month away from National Novel Writing Month. I suggest everyone here who has some interest in writing, be it just fanfic or regular original fiction, go have a look and join up. It's fun, I swear.

Also, the forums will eat your soul, if nothing else. XD You'll find me about as Iphigeneia. Can't find me? Look in the Egregiously Erroneous Information thread; I started it this year.

Yay, NaNo! I love it. This'll be my third year, if I get my act together enough to figure out what the heck to write about, and I'm SO looking forward to it.

I'm Callirhoe on the forums, by the way.

I've heard a lot about the NaNoWriMo before; but I've never actually tried it. I think that I would like to this year. I'm going to have to work on getting a few school related things out of the way in October though, else I'll never have time to write anything.

I'm Fidelis, if you care to look for me on the forums. I'm a little shy, though.

First-timer. Novel is a mystery.

This is the first time I've dared to try NaNo. It's turned out to be quite fun. :D

I don't really have the habit of hanging around the forums much.

Novel is historical, includes Bonapartists, Vidocq, a cat, and Frenchboys in general. Well, they do say you should write about the things you like...

Progressing well, I think.

Hey, cool! Jean, my novel is also about Frenchboys and historical in nature -- set around the end of the Convention and the beginning of the Directory period, 1795-1796. And a young Bu-o-na-parté is in my novel, or will be if I ever get that far. Wheee! :D

Yeah, I am. I participate every year, though winning is a different story entirely.

I've been persuaded. I don't even know what the rules are (and I had no idea until now that you can win at anything  ). But I'll go and find out. :)

Hmm, I might give it a go. Perhaps finish up some of the novelettes I have planned revolving around the urban insanity I have been documenting for four years now.

I've got one, I've got one! *bounces* Well, my head usually is so full of ideas that it's not hard to come up with anything. The only question is if it turns out to be any good.
