He would be a perfect Marius pour moi.
Then I saw their trembling features warp and, gradually,
Their foreheads turn pale and dissolve in front of me,
And everyone, like a stream that flows into a sea,
Became completely lost in a dark immensity.

I can see him more as Joly than Marius.

So, I found Enjolras. As a statue of Lucifer. Okay, then.

Fun Fact: The church this was in thought that this statue was too pretty, so they had the sculptor's brother make a different version.

 I sees it.

A slightly older Pontmercy, in Jean Gericault's self-portrait:

That actually works, Gervais. I'd never really thought about an older Pontmercy, but it works.

And Zelle, I see it, too.

In an AU moder universe, young Combeferre on a yacht trip with Enjolras maybe?

I don't know, but the minute I saw his face on the left I thought of Combeferre.

Enjolras is very hard for me to pinpoint visually, but I found a picture of violinist David Garrett who I believe in THIS picture has the soft but intense features Enjolras has.

The hair is wrong, but my image of Enjolras is mostly Rupert Brooke:

Valjean is Leonard Cohen. This is one I'm particularly attached to, because often I'll find someone who looks like a character in one particular context or at one particular time, but I think Cohen at various ages works for Valjean across most of the book:

This guy makes me think of Enjolras, though his face is maybe too soft. Trying to imagine how he'd look with some fire in his eyes:

These really only apply to my modern-day image of him, because I imagine him differently in canon-era for some reason; Lukas Previn makes me think a lot of Grantaire, especially in this pic:

And though he's technically too attractive, Marc-André Grondin has a very Grantaire-ian way about him in Le premier jour du reste de ta vie and just in general:

I've had a very clear picture of Enjolras in front of me and always wondered where that was from.

Playing DSA the other night ("Das Schwarze Auge", german pen & paper roleplay; the german DnD, so to say...) we met a non-player-character and just at the mention of his name I internally facepalmed.
Badly.
Cause there was the headcanon
