1789 Les Amants de la Bastille

Postby The Bricklayer » Thu Sep 06, 2012 1:27 am

I was listening to the French Cast album of 1789 Les Amants de la Bastille, and I was wondering if you guys had any thoughts on it and/or could maybe give me an English synopsis since my French isn't good enough to understand much of what is being said. It does sound interesting though.
Tomorrow will come no matter what, but it is up to you to make it better than today.

Just noticed this thread! I have no idea what's going on in it, but I do love watching it. Am convinced that dancing was an essential part in the initial success of the French Revolution now.

I'd really like to know more about this show as well. I've watched bits on youtube but it doesn't even have its own wikipedia page so I have no idea what's going on half the time.

Is there a full video of this? I had the impression there was a DVD of it, but I'm not sure if I'm getting mixed up with other stuff. Because it's totally the sort of thing we should livestream.

Just got a highlights album of this. I have no clue what the story is but I like some of the songs- ("Fixe"/"La cri de ma naissance" and "Au palais royale" in particular).
Here day embraces night, and says: I will die with you and you will be reborn with me. From the heavy embrace of all desolations springs faith.

The real name of devotion is disinterestedness.

So I wasn't expecting to cry, but I did.
