I don't really recognize any of these names, honestly. Melissa Mitchell, of course, was a Cosette/Fantine understudy on Broadway recently and Andrew Love has been with the show since the Toronto production. I have a feeling he's going to be one of those perennial Mizzies who stays as long as he possibly can.

Nick Cartell does not come from a place where I would expect to find a new Valjean. He seems a little young and has a resume full of small or ensemble roles, but he was on the 25th Anniversary Phantom tour (as one of the policemen...?) so I guess that's where they found him. I'm curious about him. You'd think someone capable of carrying Les Mis and singing the score for Valjean would be "discovered" sooner rather than later and have something under their belt that shows someone else noticed that capability before he was chosen to play Valjean, but who knows. Maybe he'll be like the Phantoms on the 25th Anniversary Phantom tour.

Broadway World put together a helpful little video collection for everyone though. Cartell's voice is okay, but he's already dropping notes thirty seconds into the song.

The thumbnail for Josh Davis' Stars is like GHOST JAVERT. I laugh.

What is that thing on Javert's head? It looks like a Beatles wig.

That wig is awful and that GIjolras is Maguire gone blonde.

The only thing worse than Maguire is a blond Maguire. *shudders*

I must be a worse fan than I thought. to my surprise I can identify every scene just by looking. Is this the current tour? If so, I'm going to miss it... ticket prices are right out roof.

Yes, sometimes tours do that. They gouge people because you say to yourself "aaaahhh, I have to go, it's only here for a week!" Plus, Les Mis is and will likely always be highly marketable.

(Not sure how identifying every scene makes you a worse fan though. ;) )

I will give blonde alleged GI-jolras a shot. I have to at least hear him before I say he's terrible.

Youthful Valjean gets more credit than I thought he would, he actually looks pretty decent here.
