I haven't watched or listened to anything from this production since shortly around the time it opened (other than the Tony performance and other TV appearances)... but those who've been to the show lately or heard recent boots, has it really gotten this bad? :?

I have seen some comments lately saying Swenson is getting worse instead of better. Tbh when they announced he was taking a break to do another show there was a big part of me wondering if it was a face-saving out and if he won't be coming back from the break.

*does a happy dance* I'd been hearing rumors that it might be Andrew Varela, but Carpy certainly makes me happy as well!

There's an article on Playbill revealing the new cast members joining. I know of Gavin Lee... haven't heard of the others, but hope they'll be good.

Alfie Boe will take over as Valjean when Ramin Karimloo leaves:

Yeah, my reaction was pretty much "NOOOOOOOO!!!" :(

But on a possibly happier note, is Swenson out for good? Or just taking another vacation? (I've not really been keeping up with news about the production other than major events like Karimloo being replaced by Boe... Just heard a few things about how Earl has been playing Javert lately, and happened to see a tweet from Sam Hill seeming to bid farewell to Swenson, so I wondered what that was about.)

I think he is gone permanently now. In which case at least they've got a good Javert over there even if they have a not-as-great Valjean. (Speaking of good javerts...*wailing over London cast change*)

Indeed, I was shocked to hear about that this morning. R.I.P. :(
