The Marshmaolo wrote:"A night full of you" absolutely SLAYS me. I'm convinced they put that line there to relieve the heavy atmosphere left behind by supremely depressing string of scenes that is The Final Battle to Empty Chairs at Empty Tables.

God, between that and "Oh God, it's everywhere!" I have to give props to the actor playing Marius for not laughing.

I don't know if anyone's already mentioned this but...

"It's hot as hell below!"

If you know what I mean...
I like to think everything whizzes by her head like sheep jumping over fences, and that Marius comes by every 3-4 sheep. And add scattered leaves flying around and rain falling too. And maybe a unicorn. Thus the insides of Éponine's mind.

This is so funny...the things all of you and your dirty minds are able to find...well here's something from the German translation of the "Confrontation":

Javert
Ich bin hier das Gesetz!
Komm und gehorch!
Komm mit mir...2 4 6 0 1 !

Which literally translates to...

Here I am the law!
Come and obey!
Come with me...2 4 6 0 1 !

:D (I avoided a different kind of typing 'come' although it was daunting here)
And the whole German libretto is full of those slightly could-be-doubleminded lines...

Hehe, the foreign translations are fun for this sort of thing. One that caught my attention was in the Japanese lyrics -- the verb "daite" (and its various forms) can mean either "hold/embrace" or "have sex with." It doesn't help that both meanings are used in different parts of the show, either (the sex definition being primarily in scenes like "Lovely Ladies"). So a dirty-minded listener like myself might wonder why Fantine's asking Valjean to "do it" with her as she's dying. Ditto Éponine to Marius in her death scene! And there really isn't any other word the translator could have used instead, either, which makes the whole thing rather hilarious.

I am certainly impressed by your collection of dirty lines. Allow me to expand it.

“These men who seem to know my crime will surely come a second time”.

“And they rose with voices ringing”.

“Come with me, where chains will never bind you”

“I have never heard him ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’”

“Like the flowing of the tide, Paris coming to our side”

And then the obvious stuff like every other line in Lovely Ladies and I Dreamed a Dream “He slept a summer by my side / He filled my days with endless wonder / He took my childhood in his stride”.
I would totally be in for Les Gutterables. Think about it, Javert is a hardcore BDSM’er, Valjean tries to escape him but fails, Marius and Cosette are as horny as ever, and Enjolras has an obsession with group sex.

Um, let's just say that some people use chains/bindings in very interesting ways in the bedroom. And not the figurative chains either.

From Javert and Valjean's confrontation in the sewers:

Take him, Valjean,
Before I change my mind!
I will be waiting, 24601

And then Enjolras:

Do what you have to do;
The man belongs to you.

(Enjolras does not seem to approve of J/JVJ, exactly.)
"I learned not to fear infinity,
The far field, the windy cliffs of forever,
The dying of time in the white light of tomorrow."
--Theodore Roethke

The way Hugh Jackman says "I am ready, Fantine."

And I'm really glad they quickly abandoned the OLC version of AHFOL: "I am lost in your spell."

And then the OLC also gives us I Saw Him Once:
"Who meet as in a trance, then part again!
Two phantoms in the shadows of the moon
...And once will do!"

I'm having flashbacks to Love Never Dies here.

And slash isn't just V/J or Les Amis, the Patron Minette had some in the old days, too:
"You shut your mouth! Give me your hand!"

"Who laid hands on this good man here?"

Javert defending his territory...but it wasn't his day:

"He disappeared..."

Glad I'm not the only one here who picked up on it. Considering it came at such a poignant sad moment, I didn't know whether to burst or laughing or not at that point.

When followed by "out of reach, just a whisper away, waiting for me", yes I do!
Dear innocent Cosette, you surely wouldn't be referring Marius' more intimate anatomy would you?
*grins sheepishly*
It does put 'night full of you' in a different light though.
