Death of Enjolras - Picture thread

Postby Auf die Barrikaden » Sat Jan 19, 2013 7:39 pm

Enjolras lying dead on the flag. Perhaps the show's most iconic moment on stage, as it was honored and recreated in the movie adaptation. And in my view worthy of an own thread. Many variations exist, be it more or less blood, eyes open/closed, on the flag or wrapped in it. I start off with the ones I could find online, please feel free to contribute:

The first and original, David Burt, London 85: http://media.tumblr.com/e7ef69782d2b0df ... qlxd8f.jpg

Folder I found at photobucket, user "desertowl" likes to collect them too: http://s7.beta.photobucket.com/user/des ... brary/Dead
First one is from the 1st National Tour in Boston 1988 (I can't remember his name...). Second one is Christopher Howard, London 88, a rather bad screenshot from the "Stage by Stage" documentary. Third and sixth one I have no idea.

Keith Burns, London 92: http://www.johncaird.com/images/musical ... enir/9.jpg

Enjolras from the TAC videoclips, was never sure who it is: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lfam4 ... 1_1280.jpg

David Bardsley, London 96: http://webspace.webring.com/people/bc/cele/david04.jpg

Stephen Buntrock, Broadway 97: http://www.broadwaylesmis.com/Gallery/P ... eadenj.jpg

Christopher Mark Peterson, Broadway 99: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v448/ ... eadEnj.jpg

John-Andrew Clark, 3NT Los Angeles 2004: http://www.lasplash.com/uploads//1/enjolras_death.jpg

Ramin Karimloo, London 2004: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m8df5 ... o1_500.jpg

Freek Bartels, Rotterdam 2008: http://i41.tinypic.com/2s0jl8l.png

David Thaxton, London 08/09: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lnfzz ... o1_500.jpg

Killian Donnelly, London 09/10: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tTenHO6tmD4/T ... 300228.JPG

Thanks for the compliments. :) I like that one of Drew, from what I heard his Enjolras and Valjean were something one had to experience live...

Found one more. Daniel Coll, Manchester 92: http://www.msarchive.co.uk/lesmis/mansou/mansou126.jpg

Oooh that's very interesting! Must show mother dearest, the Edinburgh run was her second time seeing the stage show (and final one without little old me :D). If only there was one out there for the Manchester leg of the 2000 run...I've always regretted not getting a programme for my first time

Not in the traditional onstage sense, but I saw this one tumblr and it amused me! Killian Donnelly: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_me21m ... 1_1280.jpg

Ha, I found out who was Enjolras in the 1NT in Boston 1988, it was John Herrera! :) The role of Marius was played by a certain Hugh Panaro... http://www.thecrimson.com/article/1988/ ... ritten-by/

Wow! Is Hugh Panaro really that old?! Considering I would have been a baby then, and I never thought of him as an old actor :S

I saw (and reblogged) a dead Enjy megapost earlier, but I wasn't sure if it was the same as the ones in here?

Except for the movie gif I'm pretty sure they are from here-the inclusion of Max von Essen and Danny Coll are good hints at that, for they are not so easy to find.

Any chance you got a good high res .jpg pic of Aaron Tveit? Need something better to replace the gif.

I can load it up and take one. I was doing some screencapping earlier, slowing down the barricades to 0.4 speed :D So many good little moments!

Unfortunately, I don't have anything to contribute, but I just wanted to say thank you, all, and especially Auf die Barrikaden. I love this thread.
