What is it about the prettiest of boys doing war musicals which require them to chop their hair? :(
I don't know how I'll cope if Forbach goes as short as is normal for playing Chris :(

It's really helpful that the only crossover I saw was Stephen Buntrock. My affection for Greg Stone doesn't count, since he was, after all, Valjean, so the beard and wigs change things. And I never actually saw him (he's my favourite Chris I've never seen).

At least Charlie is incredibly pretty even without much hair. But damn, the hair was such a wonderful addition.

Yeah, I've seen a little bit of his Marius and he is clearly a very good looking guy even without the hair. But the hair is really something.

In my head, I think the Bunbun who was in Les Mis and the Bunbun who was in other things are two different people. He looked all fluffy and delicate in the pics I've seen of his Enjolras and then suddenly he's the most manly Raoul that ever twirled a soprano. But he's still awesome.

Keep in mind that basically any and all fluffy!Enjolras pictures of Buntrock are from '97 and the manly and wonderful Buntraoul is from 2005. He hulked out between his 20's and his 30's.

I know :) But he does look very different, even for a gap like that. I wish there was more around of his Enjolras, what is there does look rather pretty.

God, me, too.

And now I feel like a fickle, fickle beast, but I don't know what I'm going to do with myself when I don't have Alan Shaw's Joly to look at anymore. I didn't take much notice of him when I saw him on tour, but after three viewings in Toronto, he ruins the barricade scenes for me because I can't look at anyone else.

Cast him as someone like Laigle then?
Because Charlie H prods his nose, which is a definitely Joly trait, but I'm sure Alan could be another Ami with a mistress and still be awesome.

But Alan's Joly and Combeferre being barricade-doctor buddies and Alan's Joly patching up Chris' Bahorel and Alan's Joly refusing to sit at the same table as Ramin's Valjean because "hey, you just shot that guy and that's really not something I'm okay with" and Alan's Joly being so utterly relieved that Mark's Enjolras told the women to go away and "Musichetta, I love you but please, please go home."

They can share. :D

Valjean: Someone who can sing, so unlike earnest, well-meaning Hugh Jackman
Marius = anybody except worst Marius ever, Eddie Redmayne (fault maybe the terrible direction, if he was allowed to sing he could have been perfectly fine)
Fantine = no overrated Anne Hathaway
NO THESE "SINGERS" AND THEIR TERRIBLE MUSICAL DIRECTION!

I think the point is to say who you would cast rather than who you wouldn't ;). Otherwise "anyone but Redmayne" could give you Marius as played by Taylor Swift.
