In Hapgood, it's "Javert Derailed"?

The one where Javert died (Javert Derailed)
Volume 1, Book 1, Chapter 13 (The conversation with G)

Those are the two that I particularly like :)
Everyone who complains that the movie is too long hasn't read the book.

It's Javert Derailed (Javert dérailler). Hugo has a whole metaphor in there about a derailed locomotive. It's kinda fascinating because he's making a metaphor with a technology Javert will never see because he killed himself in 1832.

Has anyone yet mentioned "A Cab Rolls in English and Yelps in Argot"?

My two absolute favourites are right next to each other and form the diametrically opposite emotions - from a terrible heaviness to a delight that makes you want to jump around the room:

LES ARTILLEURS SE FONT PRENDRE AU SÉRIEUX (Where Enjolras shoots the young man)
EMPLOI DE CE VIEUX TALENT DE BRACONNIER ET DE CE COUP DE FUSIL INFAILLIBLE QUI A INFLUÉ SUR LA CONDAMNATION DE 1796 (where a mattress defeats a cannon)

If I had to pick second favourites, it would be the barricade death chapters and the Cabuc chapter.
C'est tellement mystérieux, le pays des larmes. ~Le Petit Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
