Happy Bastille Day to all of you.
Tomorrow will come no matter what, but it is up to you to make it better than today.

Happy Bastille Day, all!

Have some Thomas Paine Rights-of-Man goodness:

""Little did the new ministry expect such a salute. Accustomed to slavery themselves, they had no idea that liberty was capable of such inspiration, or that a body of unarmed citizens would dare to face the military force of thirty thousand men...But defence only was not the object of the citizens. They had a cause at stake, on which depended their freedom or their slavery. They every moment expected an attack, or to hear of one made on the National Assembly; and in such a situation, the most prompt measures are sometimes the best. The object that now presented itself was the Bastille; and the eclat of carrying such a fortress in the face of such an army, could not fail to strike terror into the new ministry, who had scarcely yet had time to meet."

I find the constant references to the total unpreparedness of the new ministry amusing.

William Wordsworth's (unsent, posthumously published) 1793 Letter to the Bishop of Llandaff defending the French Revolution and attacking the British constitution/economic structure/society is incredible. I just read it through in one go and political pamphlets aren't usually that absorbing. Too bad he never sent it and apparently later changed his mind about politics. It's extremely well written.

Yikes, thank for catching that! I'll fix it now.

Edit: now it goes to the letter.

This speech is about Maxime/Phan/theRandomPhangirl.

Citizens of the abaisse community- Maxime is a wonderful and needed member of abaisse. Her control of the Committee on Public Safety (of abaisse) has been incorruptible and pure. She has not sent a single innocent citizen to the cybertine. I beg of y'all to please- thank Maxime and do not cybertine her. Citizens, the future is bright! Thank you.

There I did it ;)
I was talking to Maxime (Phan) on tumblr and told her I would make this post ;)
