Caption "contest"

Postby Marianne » Wed Dec 01, 2010 6:27 am

This ran for a while over at the lesmiz community on LiveJournal, but since most of the action has shifted to Abaissé I think I'll re-start it over here. Although I'd rather not clutter up the board with lots of threads and polls on one subject, or make this subject to complicated rules, so unless anyone objects, it won't be a contest. Just think of the most lulz-tastic captions you can and squee over the best ones.

Our first image is just begging to be captioned:

Les Amis de l'ABC discover slash fanfiction.

-OR-

Enjolras: "Who is Jenn and why does she keep making me have sex with Grantaire?"

-OR-

"Boy, good thing we got our hands on this copy of 'Les Misérables' before building the barricade..."

*isn't funny*

"GOD HELP ME, you revolutionaries are all idiots. You're holding the damn map upside down!"

alternately:

"I didn't know you could DO that with men--especially not with more than two of us!"
and to this day, she's glided on
always home but so far away
like a word misplaced
nothing said, what a waste

The dramatic reading of "Wasp's Nest" met with mixed reception, and suspicions about Javert's trustworthiness began to circulate after he suggested the boys should act it out.

It would have been significantly easier to retrace the path to the super secret munitition stash had not Jehan translated the instructions into three languages successively and back, then rephrased the result to resemble a Petrarchan sonnet at the bottom of the map. Javert, having witnessed the earlier singing, was much disturbed by this far less straightforward form of lyric narrative.

And of course Combeferre wouldn't put his bleeding gun down even one second.

Not participating this time because I lack humour/wit but:

I saw this on the tumblr and immediately thought it needed to be captioned.

I must admit I am feeling much more concerned about Enjolras's mullet than I am about the contents of that paper

I'm giggling so much here.

"Don't look at Javert's face, look at map, don't look at face, don't look at face . . . "

Seriously, Javert's face looks like a weird plastic mask there!

Well then you don't lack either of these things. :)

My first thought was that Javert was showing all the amis a picture of Valjean. Javert's probably saying something like "That's the guy, if you see him...let me deal with him". Enjolras is all "Uh...yeah mate...whatever you say...I've kinda got an insurrection to organise now."

Oh, and whoever is raising his eyebrows in the background is thinking "So that's why they call him Jean, Jean the sexy ex-con".

"Can't you tell left from right, boy?!"

Enjolras looks reeallly baffled there.

Javert: "See, it says so right here! Subsection 5, paragraph six states clearly that it is either mullet or sideburns - wearing both at the same time is a capital offence!"
