Yay! The music room scene is one of the best openings I can think of - so much characterisation, setting, and backstory thrown in there but with humour. and there's a brilliant series of parallel scenes later on that just makes me wish I could do that.

I had plans for a lovely big pic of Enjolras walking through snow...but worked up until today (Christmas Eve) and have been spending time with the kiddies every spare moment. I only snuck this on in while I was keeping an eye on them this evening by drawing with them out on the balcony (they were doing Rainbow Lorikeets, but broke off to "help" me with this - niece has discovered a love for the smudge stick). I just invented the whole snow scape, as I never looked up the Paris-in-the-snow pics I'd wanted.

Comment from 3 year old: "is that boy or girl?"

Niece picked it for a boy. Knew she was one of us!

Anyway, I should go join the rest of the family drinking champagne before we set up Santa's tracks in the flour we've laid out on a towel on the floor (my brother has suggested it's "CSI Christmas").

Hope you all have a wonderful one!

Oh, he's so gorgeous!

Merry Christmas - and let us hope that you have no need for chalk outlines in the carpet :)

Lovely as usual Despard. And I like the scarf, very festive!

Merry Christmas!

Oh, what a very happy Christmas indeed, if there is this Enjolras walking through the streets of Paris. <3 He is absolutely gorgeous and I just adore the way you do colors. His hair, as ever is magnificent and I love his blond eyebrows more and more with every picture.

Also love how his eyes are brighter than the sky- it's disappointingly gray in Paris during the winters and it made the pic seem oddly more realistic.

It must be one great Christmas treat for any girl to see Enjolras looking like that, walking through Paris. :D

Cheers, Inspector :) Sounds like Courfeyracian phrase!

Thanks, MmeBahorel! And we got by without chalklines on the carpet...just lots and lots of pastel dust and Despard needing a mid-afternoon nap :)

Glad you like the eyes, Loony! I'll probably tidy up a few elements when I'm reunited with my photoshop program. I have the perfect model for Enjolras' eyes staying with us right now - my Brother-in-Law has the most startling, disconcerting blue eyes. Everyone assumes they're contacts, and even though he's a great guy who is pretty laid back, when he looks at you directly you get a jolt. So I can well believe that Enjolras' eyes could have a very intense effect. Very different to my sister, who also has blue eyes but much lighter and softer.

Thanks, Mamselle Miss! It wasn't until I was a little way along that it occured to me that there was a bit of a Harry Potter vibe going on. I prefer Niece's explanation: Candy Cane!

I always get a chuckle out of the blond eyebrows myself, Marguerite, thanks to your grisette declaring them "too blond!" I need to do a few things to his hair.

Running into Christmas Angelras would indeed be a treat, Aurelia!

Have I mentioned lately how much I like your pastel works? (Pastels work particularly well with Enjolras, it seems). A very peaceful rendering of E at wintertime, coupled with a beautiful balance of colours.

Ta, Cary! Knowing how beautifully you use colour in your work, it's a comment double appreciated. And I'm so thrilled you liked it that much, Elwen.

Ooh, lovely Christmas art! I agree with Marguerite -- the eyes are great. And it sounds like you're influencing your niece to be one of us -- well done indeed! :D

A very merry Christmas to you! Those Santa tracks on the floor are an inspired idea!

Beautiful picture, Despard, as always. I love your Enjolras...
Tell me, I've still a lot to learn,
Understand, these fires never stop,
Believe me, when this joke is tired of laughing,
I will hear the promise of my Orpheus sing...

Mmmm. You know how I feel about snow, so of course I'm going to (heh) melt at this. I'm charmed by how the cold has brought out the pink in his cheeks.
