Re: Pencil Sketches, PG - Enjolras and...well...you'll see

Wait a minute, now... I posted a response to this picture ages ago... but it's not here. Gah, maybe I pressed the wrong button or something. I think I gushed for an entire paragraph about how great everyone's hair looks. And, you know, fashion. :)

This is a really beautiful one, of course! These faces are so expression (and, of course, I love everyone's hair).

Missed your response, Loony - thank you! Ah, hair. A canonical indulgence.

Speaking of hair...here's Long-Haired Enjolras again, thanks to the influence of MmeJavert, MmeBahorel, Marguerite and Marianne:

Oh my gosh! That's just gorgeous! His hair is so lovely and looks like it's probably soft... I didn't even notice how pretty his face was for a second there.

I've commented already on DA, but looking at it now, I can just say that he has an awesome expression. I am really starting to like his long hair too. :D

Aww he looks so young and pretty. And the semi pleading expression he has there makes me want to give him a hug.

Thanks guys - glad you like him :) I have a couple of other ideas kicking around and will try to set them down soon.

Oh I do love a long-haired Enjolras! Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I love this one's hair so much I haven't even really taken a good look at his face!

This was one I did a week or so ago for Marguerite on leaving Paris... pose is based on one of those yummy models Loony posted (um...rather heavily adapted). I sort of figure it's Enjolras from her APFTA, who has thrown on this clothes and is just pulling on his tailcoat, wearing a sash, of course, and is telling Courfeyrac to hurry up or they'll be late for something or other seditious.

There will be another half hour of Courfeyrac re-tying Enjolras' cravat before they get out the door.

I enjoy how this has the feeling of the movement of pulling one's coat on! If that makes sense. Like, that sort of pose could easily be kind of ambiguous as to whether or not the coat is going on or coming off, but his expression is totally LET'S GO TEAM THERE'S FURNITURE WALLS TO BUILD!

AN ASIDE: "Hurry up, we're going to be late for Something Seditious!" is a phrase I am going to be doing my very best to work into future conversations.

I can't stop staring at him! I love his long hair. I just want to run my fingers through it but, I don't think that would make Courfeyrac too happy.

I am way too amused by the sash. It is just... gah! Words fail me. And I agree with Hannah. "Hurry up, we're going to be late for something seditious!" definitely needs to be worked into more conversations.

Now that I'm done typing this, I'm going to go back to staring at him. *oogles*

Things I love:

-Enjolras' expression. I don't know why, but it looks charming, harried, frustrated, and clueless in one go
-The messily tied cravat
-The COAT. Dear God, it's practically flowing.

Great pencil sketch there!

Oooh that's gorgeous. Your highlighting is just... nrgh.

Really loving the long hair and the facial expression. And also the coat. It's very flowy and is just beautiful.

Hannah, I get the feeling Enjolras is always up for something *judiciously* seditious. As opposed to Courfeyrac and Bahorel, who are just up for sedition, full stop. Glad you like him doing something other than...posing with a flag. It's not exactly holding off batallions or shooting murderers, but at least there's some movement!

Mlle Patria, pleased that you like the hair...these days I seem to vary between short and long, but in the story he's forgotten to cut it (again), so is longer rather than shorter.

Aurelia, I'm glad he comes across as having A Lot On. And trying to get ready in haste. The cloat is flowing because he's worn it so often it's as soft as butter.

Hazellwood, thank you! The current thing I'm working on is back to short hair.
