Thanks Cary! I do love a textile...wish I had the patience to render them like they should be done.

Oh my goodness, I missed *two*!

I'm currently bouncing around a little in excitement at the sight of those fencing uniforms, but I also love Courfeyrac's expression in the second picture. And his waistcoat. And his hair. And your Grantaire looks so strikingly different from your Enjolras--I love it! It's really gorgeous. I love it, but I keep getting distracted by all the detail on Courfeyrac's waistcoat. Gah. Gorgeous!

And I missed thanking you for your kind comments, Loony!

Here's Marianne's brilliant crack concept: Enjolras and Emilia Plater. Once you get over the Enjolras-And-Woman-Romantic-Does-Not-Compute, it is an oddly attractive idea. Young revolutionaries in love! I even have a cracked out fic in my head about these two...imagine, cross dressing historical figures in Les Mis :)

Am so tempted to put this up on the MHS kink meme in response to the Enjolras-Plater prompt.

Oooh. Somehow that seems a lot less 'cracky' - as in, with a lot more evident potential for attraction (if that can be reasonably measured ... which it probably can't, so, rubbish argument) than most Enjolras-envolving pairings that can be conjured up involving the book's own characters! And at any rate it's hypnotically pretty (which can serve as an excuse for a lot)!

Wow! So cracky, so pretty....but it WORKS! :D :D :D

Someone's got to do another pic with Enjolras and a girl...only it's how he would REALLY react with any girl besides Plater, or any girl who was not into revolution. :D :D

Beautiful -- and I can completely see the pairing working! Ah, young revolutionaries in love ... plausible and extremely pretty. :D

Despard, that is AWESOME.

Hypnotically pretty is right. And they both look so happy--the light of the ideal shining on their faces, perhaps? (Or is that the wind of the ideal conveniently ruffling their hair?)

It's the great wind of liberty - don't you remember your OFC lyrics? :)

This is so awesome! There's not really much I can say that hasn't already been said, but I love this. The prettiness is justification enough for this picture.

Ta, all :) Frédérique, Aurelia, Merlin and MlleImparfait, I am always endlessly comforted that in our world, "pretty" justifies a whole heap of cracky digressions/transgressions :)

Marianne and MmeBahorel - Ha! You picked up on the glorious wind of liberty that is ruffling their hair beautifully. Which is, um, no different from any of my other depictions of Enjolras, who like depictions of Plater apparently had his own micro-environment following him around. I can see either of them walking into a room and their hair just streaming along off to one side while everyone else's is laying flat to their head (so chuckled at your blog comments about her personal atmospheric conditions, Marianne - I am a 19th century pop culture illustrator at heart!).

It's good to see your pictures again, Despard. :-) Beautifully drawn, as always.

This reminds me of Faramir and Eowyn in Lord of the Rings, where Tolkien talks about the dark and fair hair blowing and mingling in the wind. Except, of course, it's the other way around here.

Not sure how relevant that comment was - but it's an awesome picture anyway. It almost makes me believe Enjolras could be romantic. Almost.

Ooooh, how did I miss this? This is lovely and I just adore Emilia here. Somehow her hair is even prettier than Enjolras's, which is really quite bewildering to me. I love her expression to- she's pleased but kind of amused that the incarnation of the 19th century revolution has his arm over her shoulder. Could be worse Emilia! I'm hard pressed to think how it could be better.

Also, kudos on the interlinked hands there! It looks splendid.

Thank you, Abelarda :) I have another one on the way, an illustration from one of Marianne's fics. Um, it's yet another flag pic I'm afraid, though. I never get sick of Enjolras and his One True Love, but I'm sure other people must!

I love that passage, Ivorgne! It wasn't in my mind when I wrote it, but it works...if we reverse the characters a bit as well, and make Faramir the icy one.

Chuckling over that interpretation of her expression, Abelarda - it works for me! Someone over on Dev Art suggested it might be more a comrades-in-arms thing, which I suppose explains the - er - chumminess.
