Response To Nessa's Meme

Postby Schmerg_The_Impaler » Wed Jan 14, 2009 1:30 am

Take yo' iPod, put it on shuffle, and then draw a picture of whatever comes to mind in the Les Mis fandom for each song.

Then tag three people. I'm tagging LESMISLOONY, ACROS THE STARS, and PRINCE SHROOB.

My drawing skills aren't very good, but whatever. It's still fun.

What the heck these pictures are of:
1. Javert smashing a piano due to his frustration (I have no idea why this came to mind. Maybe because Brian Stokes Mitchell and Norm Lewis have both played both Javert and Coalhouse Walker.)
2. Éponine... remembering how she knows Cosette
3. Marius and Cosette's wedding
4. Javerrence Mann lapsing back into Chauvelin mode.
5. Marius' filthy room in the Gorbeau tenement
6. Marius has just had his epiphany and idolizes his father and has begun calling himself 'Baron' and ordering calling cards that list him as such.
7. Tholomyes has just kicked out Fantine.
8. Javert changes his mind partway through his suicide.
9. Thenardier is intimidating Valjean with his creepiness. I have no idea what this is a picture of.
10. Montparnasse is Sweeney Todd.

It's really a shame to be tagged and lack a scanner. I suppose I'll have to use MS Paint.
I'll also have to block all 219 Les Miz songs from shuffle. A quick check brought up about four in shuffle.
1) I might use this to actually post some art on my deviantART.
2) Do you have the template for this? I'll be looking anyway.

Wait. On second thought, I'll print out the template and take a picture when I'm done. If that won't work, it's off to MS paint I go.

Expect this to be done sometime this week. My teachers are feeling particularly evil and I'm lousy with homework.

This is so fun. :D But I didn't create the meme, it's on devart. The owner doesn't want feedback. They say they want to search for the new ones and have a surprise...

Well, I just found time to do the actual drawings, but my camera's memory thing is full. I don't know when I'll be able to empty it.
I got these songs:
#1: She is a Diamond (Evita, 2006 w/ QUAST)
#2: New Ways to Dream (Sunset..., London w/ PATTI)
#3: You Are My Home (Pimpernel, Concept Album)
#4: I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face (My Fair Lady, OLC w/ Rex Harrison & Julie Andrews)
#5: I Gave You My Music... (Phantom, Canadian Cast, w/ COLM.)
#6: Little Lotte / The Mirror (Phantom, OLC)
#7: You Won't Succeed on Broadway (Spamalot)
#8: Sweet Polly Plunkett (Just my luck I'd get a 30-second track... Sweeney OBC, performed by Julie Andrews)
#9: Without You (My Fair Lady OLC, more Julie Andrews...)
#10: The Wedding Reception (Jekyll & Hyde, Complete Recording w/ WARLOW)
It's really surprising how many Les Miz cast members I got. I'll tag people as soon as I get the picture up, which should be by Sunday at latest.

Hey, you have good taste in music, Shroob! Though wasn't the OBC of Sweeney Todd with Angela Lansbury rather than Julie Andrews?

Actually, that track was a bonus track. To clarify, there is the "Parlor Songs" track, and then after the final ballad there are three bonus tracks: Symphonic Sondheim, an opera-esque performance of GFALB, and the Julie Andrews track. The extra tracks are avaliable on iTunes. If you have the OBC, but not those tracks, then that means your copy is about 30 years old.
I had to block all the Les Miz songs. And stuff I hadn't listened to (some Frank Sinatra, the OBC of Cats, The Nutcracker, and that Jekyll & Hyde Ressurection album). Mostly because they were turning up in spades during shuffle testing.
I also have ton more albums. And I'm waiting for Amazon to ship the new stuff I odered: A studio recording of "A Little Night Music" with Maria Friedman as Petra, and the "Complete" recording of "My Fair Lady". Mostly for stuff like "Just You Wait (Reprise)", "On the Street Where You Live (Reprise)", etc. I kind of have a thing for "On the Street Where You Live".
And thank you for the compliment.

It's funny that you should associate Sweeney Todd with Montparnasse, because for the longest time I've had this idea to draw a comic of those two. Something along the lines of them meeting and saying;

MONTPARNASSE: I stab people.
SWEENEY TODD: I slice people's throats and have my assistant bake them into pies.
MONTPARNASSE: I have a knife.
SWEENEY TODD: I have a razor.
MONTPARNASSE: I'm very stylish.
SWEENEY TODD: I enjoy wearing tight pants and vests.
-brief pause-
MONTPARNASSE & SWEENEY TODD: *best friends (^_^)*
