Hopefully this will eventually end up as a full set of Amis, but for now, an Enjolras:

and a Bahorel:

Wow, Morgan. Those are gorgeous. I love Enjolras especially, but the Bahorel is stunning, too. I wish I had a portion of your talent. And also, if that's your handwriting next to the pictures, I am very, very jealous of it.

Eeee, thanks :D

That is my handwriting; when I was young it was ugly and illegible, but I have cultivated it over the course of many years so that it is now beautlful and illegible

(That's. Uh. Not even my fancy handwriting. My letter-writing handwriting is ridiculous with flourishes)

Wow, Morgan. I love all the shading, especially, and the little half-smile. Ridiculously impressive again (even if for some reason, I thought more of Tholomyes than Courfeyrac, though I guess that makes sense, because Hugo said they were alike, but sorry, it probably just fit my strange mental image), but again, I wish I had your talent.

And if that's your not-fancy handwriting... My jealousy continues to increase exponentially.

Shading is my favourite bit because I get to stick my fingers in things :D
(Me shading stuff is basically finger-painting with graphite, and I am an overgrown five-year-old and thus think art is totally at its best when it's good and clarty, so I have practiced that part lots.)

Also, you have your own talent, you don't need to wish for mine. Looking at your drawing thread, you seem to be really good at the sort of complex multi-figure compositions I really struggle with, and I think that's much more impressive. Shading and lighting is something I think is mostly a matter of lots of practice and a good putty rubber

Ah, yes, that's the best, rubbing your fingers in graphite. My mother always wonders what's happened to me when I've been drawing, because the tips of all my fingers, and the edge from my pinky to my wrist are all silver. It's so successful when you do it, though; I love it, because I usually use it to make things darker and smear lines as opposed to add variation to people's faces, and all, but it's so beautiful when you do.

And thank you very much. It means a lot to me that you think so, and that I could learn. I'd like to try.

Again. I just can't express how much I love these. Your Combeferre, especially, is wonderful. And aw, I'm sure your Bousset wasn't as bad as you say he was.

Finally,, someone who draws Cosette as a brunette! I imagine her to be maybe thirteen here (younger than when she meets Marius, something about the feel there). This is gorgeous.
