Georges, Marius, Bossuet, PROUVAIRE!

Postby Gervais » Fri Jan 18, 2013 1:00 am

So, uh, I kinda got some strange urge to draw Georges Pontmercy because the poor man needs some love and Napoleonic uniforms are the shiz, so, here ya go. It's not that great, but it's a lot better than my drawings used to be.

Nice look at him! This is when he is younger, no? Not as when Marius sees him.

Oh, cool! The world needs more Georges Pontmercy. I love it, Gervais. It's great; the sadness of him, and the nobility. And the scar. No one ever draws him anymore...good for you!

Yep, when he was still in the army (or right after) was what I was thinking for him.

And glad both of you like it.

And after playing with him for a long time on the computer, there's also this.

I love him colored, too, Gervais! My only regret is probably that now that he's your avatar, you can't see the scar at all in the tiny size, which is a bummer, because you drew and preserved it so nicely in both full-sized ones. It's still wonderful, though. Poor Georges.

I think the scar ended up being barely visible in the avatar version even full-sized, but thanks.

This is how I spent my Biology class last week. It's supposed to be Marius. I think. It's not a final draft or anything like that, but I like how he's turning out so far.

The boy needs a haircut. And a better coat. And a new hat. And a new "artist" wouldn't hurt. But the haircut especially.

Aw he's just adorable! And he does need a new hat,the poor thing!
Then I saw their trembling features warp and, gradually,
Their foreheads turn pale and dissolve in front of me,
And everyone, like a stream that flows into a sea,
Became completely lost in a dark immensity.

I sorta redid Marius, although he does need more work still. And still needs a haircut. But now he has a book with him, so he shouldnt be too lonely, and at least now it's not on notebook paper. http://th03.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/i/2 ... 69fq3w.jpg

Aww he's adorable, Gervais! I love his clothes!

Aw, Gervais, he's great! And his hair is fine. Also, I second Liv on love for the clothes. It's cool to see them more accurate. Though, again, it keeps making me laugh; the first time I drew him, too, it ended up with a book in one arm, and the other at least partially behind his back.

Honestly, the arm behind his back was because I can't draw full hands. Thumbs are alright, though.

Thanks, Liv and Marius! That isn't confusing at all. You both like the clothes? Good, because I wasn't sure of them at all.

Marius again. He actually started off as Georges (You might be able to see where the buttons for G's coat were, and maybe where the scar was, sorry) but was looking too young. He's much better here than during Take 2, I think, even if the actual upload is weird looking for some reason. I swear his eyes aren't that awkward in real life.

Aw, I like this one, Gervais! He reminds me a bit of Craig Mather's Marius, too, but I'm actually rather fond of the similarity to Georges. :D And the eyes look just fine to me, and I especially like the angle you chose to do the face at.
