Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

I'm back! Gonna have to catch up with the French Revolution talk later, as currently I'm quite zonked out and I have to be up at 5am tomorrow. But am I weird for actually wishing for barricades where I am? The citizenry seems to be falling prey to the cover up regarding election discrepancies. Not ...

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

The chaos in Turkey is incredible and terrifying. Do they really think the rest of the world won't be able to see what they're doing to their citizens? Closing down metro stations, locking the doors and tear gassing everyone inside? Barricades are a moot point in Western Europe at this point, becaus...

Re: The Four Temperaments

Enjolras - choleric
Grantaire - varies between sanguine and melancholic on a sort of bipolar spectrum. Guess you could say he's sanguine with a touch of the spleen. ^^
Combeferre -phlegmatic
Jean Valjean - melancholic

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

On the subject of Barricade Day style - I'm seriously considering printing off minuscule faces of all the Barricade Boys and glueing them to my nails and then painting over them with clear polish.

But maybe that is taking things too far?

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

Daring waistcoats and scarlet opinions.

That was actually one of my favourite descriptive bits. ^^

I say, do it!

Re: Backstory for Grantaire?

I'll have to download both Les Mystères and Père Goriot. I love anything that can give me a good sense of what it was like to live in a certain period. I've been pulling a bit of inspiration for street scenes from the opening of George Orwell's Down and out in London and Paris. I know the time perio...

Re: Post a Picture of Yourself!

dzafkdbfvksbg, thank you :D
It took so long for my hair to grow out to this, but I love it now! It was cut short like a boy-cut for the longest time and then got stuck at a really awkward length about a month ago, and now I can finally wear cool headdresses and go all flapper :D

Re: Random things you've noticed

Yes, he has some absolutely golden moments. He's also really subtle about it, which I love. Between him and George Blagden, I could spend hours watching the background of the Amis scenes. I loved his line about his life, thought it was a very Combeferre concept.

I have been watching for him more and more recently, and I love his facial expressions. He always looks so serious business.

Re: Post a Picture of Yourself!

You're all lovely!

This is from about two weeks ago: My hair otherwise never looks that good though lol. It's usually just a mess.

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

I've always wanted to tell the people at Starbucks my name was Feuilly or Courfeyrac or something, and watch them try to spell it. I want to do this, but I have a feeling it will be Germanised to something terrible like FEUIE/KURFRAK/GRANTÄR/JOHAN PRUVÄR/KOMFÄRE/ONSCHOLRA I'm going to red white and...

Thank you! For some reason I just couldn't catch it, and it was driving me up the wall.
