Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

Hey guys, my school show went really well when we did it last week. Audiences really enjoyed it and had a great time doing it too. Incredibly different to doing Les Mis last year, but great all the same.

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

Where are your god family Phan? (did I just make up a word? :D) Break a leg in case I forget to say it in the interim! EJV - that's good, I know the one time we rehearsed a youth show over those months we took it easy during exams and then ramped it up again at the end of May into June. When do you...

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

Enjolvert, how do you find doing big shows before the summer holidays? How do you work your rehearsals around the exam period? That was why our school shows were always S1-S3 only, because they happened in June. (and once my year reached S4, they stopped doing them, because they couldn't or wouldn'...

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

Feels like a lot more than a year ago strangely, although it makes me realise I can wait for our next show this week.

Re: Acaila reviews the London cast change performances

Also, I actually quite liked Cameron Blakely when I saw him although maybe others think he has gotten bored of the role over time like you said. It's difficult for a Thenardier to stand out because a lot of their stuff is comical, but he was funny enough while having a more sinister side at the same...

Re: Acaila reviews the London cast change performances

In general I'm not too picky and tend not to particularly criticise unless I really don't like a performer, but he was definitely a standout for me and I thought he was brilliant. One thing that impressed me was his range; he had a great low voice as you want all Javert's to have but he was able to ...

Re: Acaila reviews the London cast change performances

Largely similar to the cast I saw last year. I really liked Mutu when I saw him because as you say he's great physically and in the role and has a great presence onstage. In general it's a cast I really liked although back when I went to see it Sierra Boggess was Fantine at the time and she was bril...

Looking forward to my school show which is coming up in the next week. Always feels so real once the costumes and set are there.

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

If you picked it up then you could probably breeze through the book in a day; it's relatively short (most copies are only 180-200 pages) and would only take 2-4 hours to read depending on how fast you are. I definitely advise it if you don't get round to it before seeing the film; Gatsby's now one ...

Hey, Enjolvert! Good to see you 'round here again; we've missed you. :D As you can see, it's grown a bit, too. Phan. That is awesome. Although it's very amusing to look at it and your avatar's expression at the same time. Oh, my word, I didn't even notice that, but yes. :lol...

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

I would really recommend it. It's quite heavy at times but the characters more than make up for it. I enjoyed the film though I wasn't too keen on the music. I think the school edition is similar to the 25th ann. concert without the confrontation and with some of the songs in different keys. There ...
