Re: Upcoming US Tour

Hmm, that's interesting... I'll keep an eye out and poke around. Also, we have found a few tickets-- for upwards of $200, and those aren't necessarily even the great ones. So I don't know what to expect there, I just know that we can't afford that, which worries me a little. I'm certainly willing to...

Re: Upcoming US Tour

Ah, thank you Marianne. That explains a lot. Honestly the site wasn't making it terribly clear. And yes, the fact that everything is called "25th Anniversary" really doesn't help.

Re: Upcoming US Tour

Okay guys. I'm terribly confused. I'm seeing this at the Hippodrome in Baltimore in march-- but which cast is which? The les Mis website has two, 25th anniversary and I think "touring" with Norm Lewis, Nick Jonas, etc. I'm hoping very very much that I am in fact seeing the one with Andrew ...

Re: Coincidences related to Les Mis

The other night I went to see an INCREDIBLE production of "South Pacific" at the Kennedy Center and the actor playing Lt. Cable (Anderson Davis) was credited in the program as having understudied a number of roles in Les Mis on Broadway, including Enjolras! The leading lady had also played...

In my production, Thenardiere earned the nickname of T-Nardz. It was awesome.

Haha. Right. I sort of assumed that the word was used fairly... non-specificaly here.

Question about how modern a certain French slang word is...

Someone made me giggle by saying that the phrase "he rejoiced when he apprehended his man" (referring to Javert) held slyly sexual connotations in the original French, because the verb 'jouir' (or is it 'jouisser?') is slang for 'to orgasm' as well as the more mainstream 'to experience joy...

Re: Book!Javert: Evil or misguided? Please discuss.

I don't see Javert as evil or as a symbol (although victim of society, yes). Javert strikes me as very, very, human. He has a sense of humor, his own habits and quirks, and most definitely a conscience. Also, the machine-like qualities of obsession and mercilessness can be explained by things other ...

"F*** the monarchy," Enjolras said muffledly, twitching a corner of the flag.

My goodness. You write my absolute favorite silly Les Amis stories. EVER.

Re: Secrets of the Deep

"He is a noble, tranquil, serious creature who knows the secrets of the deep and is making great progress in fetching." OH MY GOODNESS. THAT WAS HILARIOUS. Like, really. It was so well written and in-character that the over-the-top-ness works just fine. Better than fine, actually. It's bri...

Re: Book!Javert: Evil or misguided? Please discuss.

Thank you for your contribution, Colonel Despard. I have a few questions, though: Firstly, when you say "But evil...? We don't see the other Javert, alas." Do you mean Javert on the "right side" like you describe at the end, hunting down a true monster? The way I see it, Javert c...
