Le Fluff Series (PG)

Hi all, recently, I went on a drawing-spree of single-panel comics, tentatively titled as the "Le Fluff Series". This series is set in a Post-Seine Era AU in which: (1) Javert didn’t die because Valjean came along in time to fish him out of the Seine; and (2) Valjean didn’t die because he ...

Re: Hi All!

Hi tatselk! Fellow Asian here. Nice to meet you! *waves* My obsession (...I think this is an understatement tbh) of Les Mis started 4 or 5 years ago as well. Watched the 2012 movie in a class and my life has never been the same ever since. Thanks for the welcome! May I know where are you ...

Hi All!

Hi all, I am a lawyer from sunny Singapore. My Les Mis obsession started about 4 or 5 years ago when I watched the musical in London and read the Brick for the first time. Recently, I got into Les Mis again by re-reading the Brick and fell into watching different versions of the movies/ miniseries t...

Re: What's on your 'wish list' for the new BBC series?

To not follow in the steps of the previous Les Mis movies! Haha. But seriously (in no particular order): 1. More depiction of how wretched Valjean's life in Toulon was, in order to show his angst and the contrast of what he achieved later in life. 2. Don't turn Valjean into a saintly figure. S...

Re: How would the characters cope in the modern world?

Valjean: I would say that Valjean would technically be better off if he and his circumstances were directly transplanted to modern-day France. For a first-time offence of stealing a loaf of bread, Valjean would probably just get a fine or at most a day's imprisonment. Not to mention how the average...

Re: Digressions in Les Misérables

Favourites: Bishop, Petit-Picpus, the gamins of Paris. Least Favourites: Waterloo, the Sewers. I think my preferences are essentially based on whether the digressions help to set the scene and/ or give context to the characters or storyline. But in general, I think the digressions are all slightly t...

Re: 1978 version

Yes, Perkins' Javert was one of the best Javerts in general, and the best thing about the 78 film, imo 100% AGREED, in fact, I would go so far as to say that he is the sole highlight of the 1978 movie. When watching it, I pretty much just skipped the parts without Perkins!vert. The rest of th...
