Re: West End Cast - 2017/2018

@Morbidmuch_ thanks for your help! Sorry for the belated reply. I ended up going last Wednesday, and I got to see all of the principal cast for everyone except Mme T! Killian and Thaxton were both fabulous, easily the best Valjean and Javert I have seen live. I was especially amazed by Javert's suic...

Re: West End Cast - 2017/2018

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if you know if there's a standby schedule? I haven't been in 2 years and I can't remember whether alternates perform weekday shows. I'd really like to see Thaxton and Killian but I'll only be in London from Monday through Thursday so I might be out of luck haha. Th...

Pre-recording

I was surprised to find how much of POTO is prerecorded. Apparently the entire title song is lip-synced, which I guess makes sense because there are stunt doubles at the beginning and Christine's impossibly high note at the end. Even though the recordings are always of the actor playing the role, it...

Re: So, Let’s Talk About Translations

Seriously?? It's Barnes and Noble 1996, "Complete and Unabridged" and "Translated from the French by Charles E. Wilbour." (Maybe Barnes and Noble doesn't like Grantaire...? :) Then again, I have a copy of Tess of the d'Urbervilles with the title spelled wrong on the cover...

Re: So, Let’s Talk About Translations

Rose had the audacity to use "bastard"! Seriously? I can't believe I just noticed this, but Wilbour removes Grantaire's "You will see" right before R passes out. Is there any reason for this? I suppose he includes it in the "few more unintelligible words"... Besi...

Re: Comparing Lord of the Flies to Les Misérables

Interesting comparison! I love Lord of the Flies; it's one of my favourites after LM. It's funny how the writing styles are complete opposites, though -- Golding writes so tersely and leaves a lot up to the reader's imagination, while Hugo, of course, describes as much as possible :D Good point, Sim...

I love it; it's super cute! He looks so happy and lively. Impressive for Paint, too; it's hard to draw on the computer!

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

Happy Anniversary! Hope everyone who went to the performance had a great time.

Anyone see the new supercut on TheaterMania? It's way better than the WhatsOnStage one. Still no Quast though... It's not like there's lack of footage of him!

Re: When Apollo Met Persephone (a fic rewrite): PG-13!!

Congratulations finishing!! I still haven't read it all, I'm afraid  But it's really good!
Do you write books for publishing too? (I can't believe you've written 82 chapters; I have been trying to write a novel, but it goes so slowly, I can hardly imagine finishing :D )

Re: Love and Hugs - The Support Thread

Hi! That's cool; I don't talk much either :D That does sound pretty nerve-wracking! Auditions are scary already, and its harder if you're dreading the worst. I had a similar experience a few years ago. I was so nervous during an audition that I could hardly perform, and I ended up not getting any pa...

Re: 25th Anniversary Concert

Finally saw the video! I thought it was pretty good; the fact that there was more staging than the TAC made it more interesting to watch. Samantha, Lea, and Ramin were fabulous, and Matt Lucas was funnier than I expected. Boe has a great voice, he just seemed to lack the charisma required to hold th...
