Re: A few questions about the book

I agree, I had so much sympathy for Fantine at that last paragraph because especially when she's surrounded by the other girls she seems so vulnerable yet at the same time far more sincere. For me, it also makes the lyrics of IDAD - when she sings about dreaming he'll come to her and they will live ...

Re: 25th Anniversary Concert

I'm not actually sure which Cosette I preferred... Katie Hall is extremely pretty and I think the 25th couple were more convincing as a match for each other, but for me Judy Kuhn's voice is the stronger one. Loved Matt Lucas doing the Cosette-Colette thing, I thought that had been invented for the f...

Re: 25th Anniversary Concert

Oh no! I think the 10th cast are generally more popular - I guess the very reason they were chosen was because they were the 'dream' ones! You know I can't get enough of that version either  but I really loved that this one had more acting, sort of closer to a conventional theatre production w...

25th Anniversary Concert

Just finished watching my DVD of this for the first time - amazing amazing amazing! Such an epic production, and I am now officially in love with Alfie Boe (hope Philip Quast from the 10th ac won't mind!) What do you all think of this version? :D

Re: If you had to choose one...

There should be no shooting Cozelma! I love On My Own, the melody is just exquisite. I do it most mornings as part of my singing practice (which is not at all exquisite unfortunately! )

Sorry I know! I thought that it would be fun, but narrowing down to just one is pretty tough!

Re: The Brick Mini-Series Project

Yeah maybe you're right, if the aim is to be truly book-faithful then you don't want to cram too much into any one episode! :) Perhaps just up to Javert's arrival then.

Re: The Brick Mini-Series Project

That would be excellent. Especially if we follow through with the door knocking at the end of Episode 1. Episode 3 can open in M-sur-M with Valjean saving the kids from the burning house? At least a flashback of it before we skip forward in time to Valjean as mayor and factory owner. I really like ...

Re: Costumes!

I wish more Cosette costumes were like this one, because it is a lovely sweet bit in the book when she starts to become interested in fashion and Valjean doesn't know what to make of it!
