Re: Death of Enjolras - Picture thread

He looks a little too happy to be dead, if you ask me.

Tiens, tiens... salut, petit Enjolras. Ça va, aujourd'hui?

Re: 5NT - Fifth National Tour

Yes, sometimes tours do that. They gouge people because you say to yourself "aaaahhh, I have to go, it's only here for a week!" Plus, Les Mis is and will likely always be highly marketable. (Not sure how identifying every scene makes you a worse fan though. ;) ) I will give blonde alleged ...

Re: Markets?

I know this is an older question, but I felt like engulfing myself in a little research project: Les Halles is the quintessential Parisian market from as early as the 1100's. The Halle aux Blés (or Corn Exchange, using the English equivalent) housing the grain and flour traders was built in the 1760...

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

@ Prisoner 24653, tbh I think Earl Carpenter should have left Les Mis right after the 25th anniversary production. He was obviously very tired of the show already by the time he joined the Asian tour. Wish we could have seen some new people who actually have the passion do it. After Toronto, he sai...

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

Well, Jason Forbach and Joe Spieldenner were dating when they played Enjolras and Grantaire (respectively), during the 4NT. They got married during the Broadway Revival's run when Jason was at least understudy Enjolras. My personal favorite was when Simon Shorten was Valjean and Katy Hanna went on a...

Re: 5NT - Fifth National Tour

I don't really recognize any of these names, honestly. Melissa Mitchell, of course, was a Cosette/Fantine understudy on Broadway recently and Andrew Love has been with the show since the Toronto production. I have a feeling he's going to be one of those perennial Mizzies who stays as long as he poss...

Re: Of boys and bullets

There are a lot of references where it says "Delacroix's Liberty Leading the People may have inspired Hugo's Gavroche" but I don't think it's ever been written in stone as a sure thing. It's also not as easy to consider a reference as it is today, Delacroix painted it towards the end of 18...

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

Everybody's parents got real busy sometime in October, I guess.

Congrats on the new job, Phan! My first real job that I went out and interviewed for in high school was like that, too, but it was drama-specific! :D

Re: The Rant thread

I wish the government could force employers to give every graduate a job in their field of study, or at least universities should be forced to pay back student debt if you can't find work. I wish the government would subsidize health care for people who are actively on the verge of death. http://cd...
