Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

Oh winter, how I love thee. There's ice on my window, the street's like a rink, and the heating in the flat is rubbishy so we're all wearing blanket capes. Hopefully it won't start snowing during carol singing tomorrow! The Mogador Recording gives me all the feelings, especially the Finale. I...

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

So how are the student accommodations now, Phan? Are you enjoying yourself? I've been away a long time so have missed what's going on with people. Have to check in more! Everything's good so far! My flatmates are really great, as are most of the people on my course, though for once I'm having to be...

Re: Best and worst of the Schools Edition

Oy.... Blacklick really is something else. I feel like this should be up there with King Vikidal for things to cheer me up guaranteed. I see Empty Chairs at Empty Tables is still on youtube too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v61wLklkddk My personal worst was some evidently completely unlicensed s...

Re: Best and worst of the Schools Edition

I feel like this is a good thing to start off with to show how *not* to do Les Mis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVEYyNybSnU Ah Blacklick, we barely knew thee! One nitpick that I consistently have with School's Eds is when Fantine only wears a mop cap after her hair gets cut, as opposed to wearin...

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

So, I've moved. I'm in my student accommodation now, and because I moved in on the day the contract started, there's no one else in my flat yet, apart from from an elusive roommate who I haven't actually seen yet. I'm a little (read: lot) homesick, but I think that's mainly because I'm by myself and...

Re: West End Cast - 2017/2018

Lol! How old is he anyway? Around about 22 (but he looks 17  )? Didn't someone on here say he was 22? I reckoned as such, given he's a recent graduate of Mountview Academy; graduates range from around 22-30 odd, and he's definitely on the younger side. God, I'm going to miss these guys a heck ...

Re: Jesus Christ Superstar

It's just a retelling of The Passion, isn't it? Only with rock music, and Jesus and Judas have some serious UST going on. I haven't watched either film or the arena tour thing with Ben Forster, admittedly, so I can't compare. I have, however, seen the Regent's Park Open Air version, starring Declan ...

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

@Phangirl: I love your new avatar! Thank you for giving me a ginger Éponine I need this very much you have no idea :D After Phantom I've never dragged people who are not really interested to watch shows with me again. I mostly go on my own now, which I think is definitely better for both my friends...

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

We both ended up crying on each other and holding each other's hands at particularly sad bits! It was like the mix of being with someone who's enjoying themself and a high-energy performance just made the entire experience 100 times better. :D

Character Sketches

New art thread! Mainly because a lot of what I'm drawing at the moment are busts or portraits of characters instead of full scale pieces. Re: West End Cast - 2017/2018

Shaq Taylor : he's definitely channelling Jeremy's Javert - from the way he sings '...and so it must be !' to the way he does the 'fall' from the bridge, it's all very Jeremy. They don't look or sound alike but the mannerisms are very similar. Although Shaq moves a lot faster than Jeremy (probably ...

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

About to go submit my dissertation and wave farewell to student life. Feels a bit surreal. Probably because I'm seriously sleep deprived. It's been a while since I'd pulled all nighters and it feels a lot like jetlag. Good luck! Here I am on the other end of the spectrum, I'm moving to another part...

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

I remember when Jonny Purchase and Jade Davies went on as M/C while they were together. The cast's tweets about them were presh. This conversation's reminded me; back when I did Mis School's Ed the first time back in 2914, Marius was a horrible flirt and kind of a sleaze. He had a girlfriend at the ...

Noooo

Thanks for the congrats guys, I'm really enjoying my job. And, unsurprisingly, my first paycheck has gone on tickets for Hamlet and Les Mis

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

So many of us have July birthdays!

I started my first proper job this week, on an activity camp for primary school kids. So far, so good!
