Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

My word, you're right, Séraphine! Feels like a lifetime ago. It's great to see you again! And Emjolras! *hugs back* My dear Acaila, life's been a bit of a whirlwind, but I'm keeping my chin up and doing what I can and a lot of what I love, so it's pretty good! How are you? Phan! How's it going? I'm ...

Re: The Drawings of YoungStudentMarius

So sometime in this intervening forever, I took up charcoal (er, white charcoal) drawing, with mixed results. Anyway, these happened fairly recently, so have a Marius and Cosette who've come a bit of a ways from 6-7 years ago. (I would say more to come, but considering the unrelenting stack of pages...

Re: So, Let’s Talk About Translations

Hmm.....I can't say I know for sure, but Google Images seems to think it's the Barnes & Noble Classics edition , and I've never known them to use anything other than public domain translations. (Which is slightly infuriating, but eh, that's a rant for another day). My best guess is Wilbour, beca...

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

...would anybody be interested in maybe reviving the read-through thread sometime this year? My French is struggling, so I need practice, and I'd like to give it a go if other people are interested as well. Is it French only? Oh no, sorry, any language is welcome! I've just wanted to try it in Fren...

Thanks, me too. It's nice to find a bunch of kindred spirits and so many knowledgeable and talented people. So true! Hey, speaking of––would anybody be interested in maybe reviving the read-through thread sometime this year? My French is struggling, so I need practice, and I'd like to give it a go ...

Re: Scarlet Pimpernel

Bit of an old thread (looks like I just missed the party on this one), but I love The Scarlet Pimpernel. My introduction was through the books, so I was also a bit wary at first of Chauvelin being in love with Marguerite, but the change definitely grew on me. Though I also liked their relationship i...

Re: London Cast 2017

I just knew that a friend of mine went to see the show in London four days ago. She might have met you in the theater, YoungStudentMarius! Wow, what a small world! :D For example: Lee van Geleen (ensemble, cover Bishop, barricade boy etc) plays one of the guests at Marius and Cosette's we...

Re: Your Stage History?

I think my  face was noticed, because the person explaining turned to me after a detailed explanation on script reading, and said "oh have you acted before?" Ehhh yeah, just a wee bit! Now that's funny! I did a couple plays when I was fairly young, mostly Christmas thin...

Hi! I'm new, so you don't know me. Nice to meet you!

Hello, CC21106! It looks like you've been here a while, so you probably don't need any welcome from me, but it's very nice to meet you too, and I'm glad you're on Abaisse! :D

I can barely imagine what the 100th would be like. At least we've all got a fighting chance of being around for the 50th!
