Re: This or That?

Someone in a Tree, for me. But I may be a bit too much of a fan.

With the casting news from the new UK/Ireland tour making us feel old, which would you rather have... A 20-year-old playing Valjean, or a 60-year-old playing Marius (assuming both could sing and act the roles capably)?

Re: December 2019 - the end (??) for the original London production ?!?!?!?!?!

I’m really disappointed. I liked the new tour when I saw it, mainly because of the cast... but it was always a comfort to know that the original was still around, as well. :(

Re: UK and Ireland tour 2018-2019

Katie Hall as Fantine sounds like a really interesting (and potentially awesome) casting decision! Would love to hear how they all sound.

Re: The Phantom of the Opera

Sad to lose Ali, but Kaley is wonderful as well. Also looking forward to hearing what Eryn LeCroy (the new alternate) is like. I like Ben, but he doesn’t really stand out to me... though that’s probably just because of how many casts I’ve heard. Meanwhile, David Thaxton is the Phantom in London for ...

Re: Best and worst of the Schools Edition

I shared this on Discord, as well -- The cast of my alma mater’s LM got another moment to shine a few days ago when they performed a medley of songs from the show for the Educational Leadership Institute at Hawaii’s convention center. This tweet has a partial vid... I’ll see if there’s a more comple...

Re: Language learning

Hey, awesome to see another member who knows some Japanese! Anime is just as valid a learning tool as lyrics from musicals. :D I'm fascinated by fictional languages, as well -- those created by Tolkien for his Middle-Earth, the ones in "Star Trek," the Dothraki language in "Game of Th...

Re: Le Cafe Mu(in)sain

Sorry to hear that angst levels have been super-high for you lately, Rachel. Best wishes for things to improve soon! *hugs* I've been doing pretty well, though I've been neglecting my online hangouts... Going to a rally for the imprisoned migrant children this weekend (speaking of angst... because y...

Re: The Phantom of the Opera

That’s awesome! I heard a boot of him (with the new Phantom Ben Crawford — no relation to Michael, since everyone has asked XD), and they sound pretty good. :) And John Owen-Jones is going to be playing the Phantom in Ken Hill’s musical (which predates Andrew Lloyd Webber’s) in Japan, which I think ...
