Re: Les Gutterables: The Most Sexual Lines in the Musical

From Javert and Valjean's confrontation in the sewers:

Take him, Valjean,
Before I change my mind!
I will be waiting, 24601

And then Enjolras:

Do what you have to do;
The man belongs to you.

(Enjolras does not seem to approve of J/JVJ, exactly.)

Re: If you could make some slight changes to the musical...

I would like to make some changes to Turning--the despair it portrays is accurate to the women singing it, as well as beautifully heartbreaking, but some of the details are just plain wrong (as discussed in many places on this site, I believe.) I'd suggest edits like these: Did you see them, going o...

Re: Barricade Day 2012

In addition to it being the 180th anniversary, the days of the week also line up... June 5 and 6 were a Tuesday and a Wednesday in 1832, and will be again this year. /trivia o' the day I knew it was the 180th, but I didn't realize the days of the week were equivalent--I knew it was a Tuesday/Wednes...

Re: Musical Movie?

Oh, I'm quite aware of the transition to beheading for the sake of equality, but I had a distinct (and apparently faulty, as I have now checked my brick) memory of a mention of the rope in that scene. Ugh, never mind me. :| Making silly blunders.

Re: Musical Movie?

Martine Robespierre wrote:@Trompe-la-Mort At the very beginning of the brick Myriel replaces a priest during an execution, maybe they'll film that.

Wasn't that a hanging rather than a beheading anyway?

I'm guessing it's just a background prop, but it's a cool one!

Re: Musical Movie?

Perhaps it'll be the location for Gavroche's little retort after Stars? (That inspector thinks he's something/but it's me who runs this town...) It seems a rather large undertaking for so small a scene, though.

Not that I'm complaining.

Re: Things I Am Not Allowed to do on the Barricades

In the same vein, I will not suggest building the barricade out of textbooks would be a good idea. Because Combeferre would be furious at the destruction of so many books, educational books, the tools of Progress! Except in dire need, I will not suggest that Courfeyrac's wardrobe be raided for band...

I always sit on the floor at Barnes and Noble too! Usually in front of the poetry and philosophy sections :)

Re: Combeferre/Jehan First Meeting

I love the idea of them meeting in a bookshop, and this is wonderfully done! My favorite touch is probably Jehan sitting on the floor--I've always seen him as someone who would do that.

This is very poignant--well done. I'd love to see more, to watch how Enjolras and Grantaire begin to heal from this...do you plan to continue it?

Lysander. I prefer Helena to Hermia, but Demetrius I just don't care for.

Continuing...Oberon or Titania?
