Re: Les Misérables characters and Personality Profiling

He could be INTP, by that logic, I think - INTPs always like to chase down an idea, and he somehow fits that type.

Re: Les Misérables characters and Personality Profiling

Gavroche is definitely ExFP, I agree. He seems more ESFP in the stage show, yes. Éponine, due to her craziness, can't be properly classified as a specific type... but she seems very ENFPish in the musical. Cosette is probably an INFP. I'd accept an argument for ISFP but I think Fantine is the ultima...

Re: Loopholes and Goofs

Hmm... I think we can exclude the possibility of her birthday being in June or July then, as that's when Marius sees her and the whole "15 years" happens. Which is why I support autumn (it also fits her so much to be a Virgo/Libra. Mostly libra, because libras are fashionable and sensible ...

Re: Loopholes and Goofs

A weird thing I've discovered that I'm not sure if it's a loophole or normal: Cosette was born in 1815, right? Marius sees her when she is beautiful in June and July 1831 - that's when he stalks her, compares her to April, etc. But he says her beauty can be described with two words: Fifteen years. I...

Re: Original Les Mis illustrations by Gustave Brion

Aw, thank you! But my only problem is, which ones are his? I've see all of the ones the person has named as Brion, but a lot of them look very different from each other. Are they surely his? Because they look like they've been done by different people!

Original Les Mis illustrations by Gustave Brion

I'm not sure if this is the right category, but out of all of them this one seemed more suitable... The original French illustrations for the novel were by Gustave Brion (in 1862), and this is some of his work - [url][url]http://eu.art.com/gallery/id--a33590/gustave-brion-prints.htm?ui=A02A185E77404...

Re: What was the worst in the movies?

I think the first time I posted on this thread, I said I hated Virginie Ledoyen's Cosette - I was wrong. She's ADORABLE and looks so perfect for Cosette. They even got the hair color right!! She's perfect. :D

Re: Visual Inspirations for Characters

http://www.marquise.de/images/1800/a1829_1 This is basically how I imagine Cosette - dark hair, gorgeous eyes, pale/rosy skin... I wish I looked like that As for Éponine, I always seem to think of Samantha Barks's face shape - or even Keira Knightley's (though the latter is more of a Cosette in my ...

Amaury Vassili - the world's youngest professional tenor, from France, and my choice to play Enjolras in just about everything: http://freewillylee.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Amaury-Vassili-Eurovision-2011-France-4.jpg I liked this one so much I'm using it as the basis for a digital painting. h...

Re: Musical Movie?

I personally think they'll cut even more of Cosette's parts - like the Hollywood bowl concert. Every Day might be cut (not every young actress can hit a high C :S ). I think Madame Thenardier will be the one to get a new song too - she deserves it!!

Re: Characters' ages, birthdays and appearances

I'm Greek - my translation is in Greek. Actually, I have two different translations, and both say the same thing. I asked my father, who speaks french fluently, to translate those passages from French to me, and he confirmed what you are saying... I am considering actually buying Les Mis in English ...

Re: Characters' ages, birthdays and appearances

When a time travelling machine, I swear, I'm going to visit him after he's published Les Misérables and slap him in the face unless he tells me everything I need to know! (I'm just kidding - though I do hope he was fluent in English or Greek, otherwise I'm doomed) So Tholomyes knew about Cosette thi...

Re: Characters' ages, birthdays and appearances

I'm so embarassed! My first (decent) post on Abaisse and I've done something wrong! Oh, no! Well.. my translation is exactly like what this website says: http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/lesmis/section2.rhtml "The three older women do not seem surprised, and Fantine pretends to laugh along with th...

Re: Characters' ages, birthdays and appearances

But... wait a minute! My copy says: "Fantine laughed loudly as well. But as she returned to her room an hour later, she was sobbing. Tholomyes, you see, was her first love. They acted like they were married. And soon she'd become a mother." Then it resumes to Book four, two mothers meet, e...
