Re: 25th Anniversary Concert

Ohhh and, why does Éponine have no dirt in the concert versions? Lea had no dirt, Sam has no dirt. Who gave Éponine a bath?? It amused me to see that the make-up department had been much more restrained this time than in the TAC (recalling Ruthie Henshall's eyeliner and Michael Maguire's tango-face...

Re: TAC-birthdays?

Colm was born in 1944. So he's 66. I actually thought he looked older than that on Sunday... but he does look very Valjean with the snowy-white hair!!

For most of the TAC cast, you can probably wikipedia them and it will tell you their date of birth.

Re: 25th Anniversary Concert

Yes, and when Michael Ball sang it in the encore he was pretty loud too... looked like he was having a fantastic time up there. *THIS is what Marius is meant to sound like, guys...* I loved that encore so much. :D Almost as much as I loved Jon Williams singing the opening line instead of John Owen J...

Re: 25th Anniversary Concert

Monotone is a good word for The Jonas. Staring at the clock is another. And whats with the ' it was your cry-ah/sent them away-ah/once more ponine-ah/saving the day-ah.' he doesnt seem to understand he has to act, not just stare off in the distance. Michael Ball must have been watching him thinking...

Re: 25th Anniversary Concert

There were significantly less cuts than in the TAC. Of course, the barricade squence was shortened (for reasons, presumably, of practicality as regards the semi-staged concept) - no Gavroche's death etc. I enjoyed the concert a lot more than I expected to. Jonas' Marius was the only weak link in my ...

Re: Details on the 1980 Paris production

Daaaang, 20 minute long chase scene? That's pretty amazing. I can't imagine how that would work, set-wise, though. I am lead to believe that the revolves were heavily involved. I am also a fan of Enjolras always singing, "Lamarque est mort". I think I was listening to La Nuit De L'Angoiss...

Re: Details on the 1980 Paris production

The thing with the original Paris production (from what I know, which is, admittedly, limited) is that it was performed in a huge stadium. the "tableaus" would each happen at a different point around the stadium and the audience would walk around to view each scene. The Bishop sequence was...

Well, that's not necessarily bad... it would mean cool costumes anyway :D (we'll forget about the being-a-prositute part for now ;) )

Re: Forum nicknames? Speak up here!

Hmm... I realise PureDiamondLight can be a bit of a handful to type - hell, I can hardly type it and I've been signing in to various accounts using it for years. But how to abbreviate myself? I'm not so keen on PDL - it makes me think partly of PDF files, and partly of puddles. The combination makes...

Precisely. No one to give you odd looks if you start cheering / wailing / exclaming, "oh, look! It's [insert favourite les mis singer here]" at random intervals.

Re: Vanity

Honestly, PDL, we're all so jealous. I think i would just DIE if i were you. Though, you'd have to replace Jon Williams with maybe Norm Lewis or someone like that. Then, seriously, i would just faint. Right there. Faint. I actually expected I would faint. I'd been daydreaming about meeting Jon - ev...
