Here's mine: http://roseinmisery.tumblr.com/

Quite personal but mostly Les Mis, Pre-Raphaelites (and other pretty pictures), theatre, books, music I like and ramblings.

No, he couldn't get tickets. Sadly. Next year we both hope to see it, though.

Re: Coincidences related to Les Mis

A good friend of mine just returned from a little place called...Montreiul-Sur-Mer! And he gave me the leaflet for the show of the book that they put on every year (I'll upload it when I get the chance).

Re: Earworms

Pretty much anything Spring Awakening. Particulary the songs with a bit too much strong language for me to sing them in mixed company. Me too! I love Ilse's songs most i.e. The Dark I Know Well and Blue Wind. Which is good because one of my friends loves to sing Moritz's and Martha's parts so we ca...

Re: Visual Inspirations for Characters

Another Éponine inspiration. Just look at those eyes! And it's a Pre-raphaelite painting (though I don't know who it's by).

Re: The Good Karma Thread

^Awesome! I find trampolining absolutely terrifying, so just going anywhere near one is impressive in my opinion.

My good news is that the 6th form I'm going to is literally a stone's throw from Baker street. Y'know, Baker street? Where SHERLOCK HOLMES lives!

Re: Musical Movie?

Exactly! It's unrealistic to expect a sixteen year old to cope with a role that demanding onstage. On film, however, they one have to sing the score once and that's it! I can understand that they might want to age the characters a bit just because modern audiences would find a girl as young as Coset...

*Sings* "Caaaaaaan anyboddddddddy fiiiiiiind meeeeeeeeeeeee somebodyyyyyyyyy toooooooooo loooooove". Alright, I'll stop now. It does amuse me, though, that lots of Eponines have played Scaramouche e.g. Sabrina Aloueche.

Re: What are you reading?

I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith. I'm loving it. Ah! One of my all time favourite books! I highly recommend the film. Usually I have lots of pet peeves about film adaptations (I think we can all talk at length about all the film versions that murder the Brick in one way or another) but I had alm...

Re: Musical Movie?

Anne Hathaway is too old for Éponine, I think. I would have said so. According to Hugo, she is about sixteen. I understand that most actresses who play her onstage are usually in their early twenties but Anne Hathaway is twenty eight. Besides, I really can't see her as Éponine. She's far too sophis...

Re: Hello, everyone!

Welcome! I still have yet to get my hands on an Enjy vest, so kudos to you for actually MAKING one!. Are we permitted to see a picture? Also, I love Jane Eyre and recall seeing the Ruth Wilson one on TV not so long ago which was very good. Also saw the Charlotte Gainsbourg one when I was "but T...

Re: On Éponine's motivations...

Very detailed post. It makes sense to me (but then the Jabberwocky makes sense to me).

As a note on Shakespeare, Juliet doesn't dress up as a man at any point but she's one of the few Shakespearian heroines who doesn't. Viola, Portia, Rosalind all do however! :D

I LOVE it! Pony!R is unbelievably cute! I just want to wrap him in a blanket, stroke his matted mane and tell him everything's going to be...ok I'm getting a bit carried away here. Still, very cute. Adore Jehan, Feuilly and, of course, unicorn!jolras too! :D
